The SNARECOIL® Bone Marrow Biopsy Needle was designed to facilitate pathologic interpretation with minimal patient discomfort and risk by consistently delivering intact bone marrow specimen with sufficient length and preserved cellularity. This innovative needle design incorporates a patented* SNARECOIL®, located at the needle tip, that winds around and captures long, non-fragmented specimens. The coil grabs the tissue specimen, partially severs it, and retains it safely within the needle as it is withdrawn. This action, actuated by a lever in the instrument’s handle, eliminates the need to twist or manipulate the needle to obtain a specimen and simplifies the biopsy procedure.
HOW IT WORKS
This design incorporated a patented* SNARCOILTM located at the distal end of the needle lumen, which winds around and captures long, non-fragmented pecimens. The coil grabs the tissue specimen at the tip and retains it safely within the needle. This action, actuated by a lever in the instrument handle, eliminates the need to twist or manipulate the needle to serve the specimen.
